Thomas D. Murray has an experimental musical style like no other. After cutting his teeth in various solo projects and gaining more recognition through longtime project Static in the Attic, Tom began work on his solo instrumental project. Over a year Tom wrote and recorded his immense debut album, Invasive. Consisting of 17 tracks, Invasive is an experimental instumental album that shows off Tom’s ability to create tones from broad soundscapes to smaller delicate notes as well as his ability to interweave these ideas on the fly.
We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to film his album release show at the AfA Gallery in Scranton. We decided to take a practical apporach to filming in order to mirror the tone of the album. Utilizing crystals and other pieces, we were able to add a kaleidoscope effect and layered other post-production effects in to create an atmosphere based around the sonic structure of the album.
